CAFCC QF: Rivers United Get Defending Champions as Opponents

Nigeria’s sole continental representatives, Rivers United have been drawn against USMA Algers in the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation’s Cup.

USMA Algers are the defending champions of the CAF Confederation Cup. They finished top of the log in their group en route to this year’s quarter-final, ahead of Modern Future, with 13 points having won four, drawn one and lost one of their group games.

It is the first time Rivers United face the Algerian outfit in the competition.

The quarterfinals will be played in a week. The first leg will be on Sunday, March 31, 2024, while the return fixtures will be on Sunday, April 7, 2024.

As an unseeded team, Rivers United will host the first leg at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo before travelling to Algeria for the second leg.

Semifinal route:

Final:

Semifinal 1 v Semifinal 2.

Rivers United would look to move past USMA Alger to go a notch higher than their previous outing in the competition and book a place in the semi-final of the CAF Confederation Cup.
