Ramadan: Iftar, Opportunity for Bonding, Gratitude for God’s Blessings – Opinion Leader

An opinion leader in Finima Community in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, Onimi Kabaka Brown says Iftar afford the Muslims and non-Muslims the opportunity to bond, strengthen relationships and express gratitude for god’s blessings.

Iftar is the meal eaten by Muslims to break their fast after sunset every day during Ramadan.

Brown, who was an aspirant to the Bonny Constituency seat in the Rivers State House of Assembly, said this on Sunday, March 24, 2024 when hosted the Muslim Community in Finima, Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, as they partake in Iftar in the spirit and mood of the Ramadan season.

It is believed among the Muslim Ummah that Ramadan is the month when the first verses of the holy book, Quran were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad more than 1,400 years ago.

Onimi Kabaka stated that the dinner was hosted to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan and also promote religious tolerance.

“You must not be a Muslim to give Iftar as your blessings are same as those that partake in Ramadan.”

“The Iftar is an opportunity to come together, strengthen relationships, and show gratitude for the blessings of life.”

Vice Chairman of the Muslim Community in Finima, Adamu Dauda told Kristina Reports that the gesture by ex-Assembly aspirant was commendable as it would foster peace and togetherness in Finima Community.

Onimi Kabaka Brown has been a political activist who has fought for unity and stability in his political party as well as his community. He remains an advocate for peace, progress and enthusiastic about community development.
