Sustain Self-Improvement, Capacity Building Drive – Lawmaker Urges Skill Acquisition Trainees

The lawmaker representing Ward 10 in the Bonny Legislative Assembly, Kingsley Jumbo has reaffirmed his commitment towards value addition and improvement of the lives of his constituents.

Jumbo, who said this at the kick-off of 6-Month Skill Acquisition Programme on Monday, July 11, 2022, in Bonny, Rivers State, enjoined his constituents to sustain their efforts at maximizing opportunities for personal development and capacity building.

“To all the beneficiaries that commenced these six months training today, I wish you all the best of knowledge and practical growth in this scheme that’s fundamentally frameworked and geared towards equipping and advancing yourselves.”

He reiterated his determination utilize resources and opportunities under his control as well as make personal sacrifices to continue to deliver democratic dividends, assuring that with divine assistance, the knowledge deepening drive during his term in office would be sustained.

“Together we shall continue to make the necessary sacrifices and strive in making ourselves better than we were, may God avail you the grace to learn and know more all through the programme.”

The 6-Months Skills Acquisition Programme, which includes training in Computer Literacy, Fashion Designing, and Hair Dressing, amongst others with a total of 50 beneficiaries nominated from the various Units that comprise Ward 10 in Bonny LGA, commences today at respective locations in Bonny LGA.

The lawmaker encouraged the people of the Ward to skillfully equip themselves to become self-reliant towards combating life’s never-ending challenges.

In their separate remarks, various elders and stakeholders in the Ward, including the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward 10, Daniel Jumbo, Director General of the Uncommon Grace Campaign Team and former Chairman of PDP Ward 10, Sinclair Abbey, and a community leader in Orupiri Community, Omubo Jumbo took turns to appreciate the enormous efforts of the Lawmaker.

They particularly praised him for his direct developmental outreaches and strides, while charging the beneficiaries to take the opportunity very seriously and make the best out of it.

One of the beneficiaries, Franklin Jumbo, speaking on behalf of his fellow beneficiaries, applauded the Councillor for such well-intended initiative aimed at directly empowering individuals, pointing out that Hon. Kingsley Jumbo has proven that he learnt well from his mentor, Hon. Abinye Pepple, whose works for the people of Bonny Constituency, he said are visibly evident.

He assured that the beneficiaries will be worthy ambassadors at their places of training and will judiciously utilize the opportunity to become skilled.
