“Some people just feel like we are being unnecessarily mean with the price of meat but we alone know what we are passing through in the market.”

These were the exact words of a butcher simply addressed as Draco, a meat seller at the popular Caro Market in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State, on Sunday, March 3, 2024,

Kristina Reports gathered from the Akwa Ibom born meat seller that the prices of meat has assumed an alarming proportion and if care is not taken, in his words, we might all end up becoming vegetarians.

“The market is not friendly at all; in fact, this market is not for the weak. You can’t even talk because nobody will listen to your plea. I just came back, I couldn’t get anything because of how the prices have gone up”

Alali David, a meat seller

Before we buy cow leg N38,000 or N35,000 around that amount but now one cow leg is N85,000, atimes N90,000 so you can see it’s times three”
