Fire Outbreak: Jumbo Major House Sympathizes with Ayambo Community, Calls for Help for Victims

The Jumbo Major Chieftaincy House has extended its sympathy to the Chairman, elders and members of Ayambo Community in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State over the fire incident that gutted parts of the community days ago.
Chairman of the House, Wari-Alabo Sodienye Jumbo expressed his regrets over the incident in a statement he sent to Kristina Reports on Saturday, July 19, 2025 in Bonny, Rivers State.

He further expressed grief over the incident, saying that, as one of the communities thar comprise Jumbo Major Chieftaincy House, whatever affects Ayambo Community also affects the House as a whole.
“I haven’t gotten the full details of this fire incident at Ayambo, Ayambo is one of our communities and whatever affects it, affects us as a House.”
“On behalf of Jumbo Major House, I wish to express our profound sympathy to the leadership of the Community and those who lost their valuable properties and means of livelihood in the fire incident. We thank God there was no loss of life.”

He called on the international oil and gas companies (IOCs) and other organizations intervene to provide succour to the victims of the fire outbreak, noting that these are very hard times for the people.
“We call on Shel Petroleum Development Company and Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas, and other public-spirited organisations to come to the aid of our people and alleviate their suffering due to the fire incident, in this hard time.”
Incidentally, checks by Kristina Reports show that Ayambo Community is home majority of the government institutions, security agencies, oil and gas companies, amongst others in Bonny Island.
