Longjohn Community Hosts Oko-Jumbo as Lawmaker Extols Legacies of Late Rodaford Longjohn

It was a moment of joy and celebration as Longjohn Community in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State hosted the member representing Bonny State Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Victor Oko-Jumbo to a warm reception.

The reception took place on Monday, December 1, 2025 when the lawmaker visited the community.

He was widely received by community leaders and residents who expressed their appreciation for the lawmaker’s dedication towards their welfare.

Oko-Jumbo paid massive tribute to his erstwhile political godfather, late Rodaford Longjohn, who he described as his “mentor and guiding light”.

“Amaopusenibo Hon. Rodaford Longjohn was my mentor and a guiding light whose ideals continue to shape my service, and I will continue to sustain our shared vision for the well-being of Ajama Nation.”

The lawmaker also presented a ₦500,000 donation to the Gigi Wari (war canoe house) of the Longjohn Chieftaincy House, a gesture that was delightfully received by the community.

He assured the community members of his continuous support, promising to expand the progress achieved under the late Rodaford Longjohn.

The visit was widely seen as a boost to unity, collaboration, and ongoing growth within Amonibienye-Ofori (Longjohn) Chiefdom.
