Amanyanabo, Chiefs Council Engage Bonny LG, Seek Succour for Ayambo Fire Incident Victims

The Amanyanabo-in-Council, alongside members of the Bonny Chiefs Council (BCC) have engaged the Administrator of Bonny Local Government Area, Kingsley Banigo to fashion out ways to ameliorate the sufferings of victims of the recent fire outbreak at Ayambo Community.
A statement by the Press Secretary to the King Perekule Royal Palace, Adolf Ransom Pepple, disclosed that the BCC led by its Chairman, Se-Alabo Dagogo Soala Claude-Wilcox, MON, visited the site of the recent fire outbreak in Ayambo Community.

The delegation comprising the Vice Chairman of the BCC, Se-Alabo Haniel Jack-Wilson Pepple, members, Se-Alabo Abel Attoni, and Se-Alabo Benjamin Adda-Allison, and Secretary of the King Perekule Palace, Festus Pepple, was received on arrival by the Chairman of Ayambo Community, Godswill Jumbo.
Speaking after inspecting the extent of damage caused by the fire, Se-Alabo Claude-Wilcox said the Council was there on the directive of the Amanyanabo to ascertain the cause of the fire, assess the damage, and explore ways to provide relief to the affected victims.
Welcoming the Bonny Chiefs Council to Ayambo Community, the Chairman, Godswill Jumbo, explained that the fire originated from a malfunctioning electricity meter belonging to the Bonny Utility Company (BUC) that caught fire around midnight.









According to him, the fire completely destroyed a six-room temporary structure (batcher) housing five families and severely damaged a one-bedroom flat and a self-contained block house.
He further informed the Chiefs that a total of 21 persons were affected, adding that the occupant of the one-bedroom flat suffered the greatest loss, with all household belongings destroyed.
In his speech, Vice Chairman of the Council, Se-Alabo Haniel Jack-Wilson Pepple, conveyed the sympathy of His Majesty, King Edward Pepple to the Chairman and members of the community, emphasizing that the Chiefs were present to empathize and explore possible interventions.

In their various speeches, the victims expressed gratitude to the King for his demonstrated compassion, appealing to him to come to their aid as they strive to restart their lives after such a great loss.
