The Senator representing Rivers West Senatorial District, Dr Ipalibo Harry-Banigo has delivered a 50-kilowatt (kW) solar mini-grid to support electricity supply at Degema General Hospital and a primary healthcare centre in Degema.
A similar project planned for the Bonny Emergency Centre, according to a project scorecard circulated in her name.

The installation, dated Monday, October 5, 2026, comprises a 50kW three-phase inverter, 48 solar panels and 120kWh lithium battery storage.
The scorecard identifies Didmusdrumhill Nigeria Limited as the contractor and describes the project as an intervention to address unreliable electricity supply at the health facilities.
The development forms part of a broader list of infrastructure, healthcare, education and empowerment initiatives attributed to the senator.
The scorecard states that a solar mini-grid for a health facility in Bonny is upcoming, alongside solar streetlighting projects in two Bonny communities and other locations, including Ndoni in ONELGA and Abisse in Asari-Toru. It does not specify a completion date for the proposed Bonny installation.
Under infrastructure, the document lists Phase One of the Orisiriki Rural Road project as completed, with Phases Two and Three expected to commence within three weeks.
It also cites renovation work at Ogono Health Centre, including a solar borehole, fencing and lighting.

In healthcare, the scorecard reports that a free medical outreach in Bonny on Monday, May 26, 2025, attended to 780 patients, comprising 700 adults and 80 children.
It lists 30 surgeries, 15 eye surgeries, 420 glasses and 56 dental procedures, alongside 6,862 health insurance cards reportedly issued to residents across Bonny.
The education and empowerment component includes the provision of 648 desks to BNGS and GSSS Finima, 50 office tables and chairs, 50 whiteboards and 50 packs of markers.
The document also reports that 31 Bonny youths received training in oil and gas and marine HSE, with an investment figure of ₦100,000 per trainee, and that 18 participants attended Charkin Maritime Academy.
Other listed interventions include support for 80 market women through aprons, funds, minibuses, laptops and sewing machines, as well as assistance with federal job opportunities and NAFDAC-related employment.
While the Degema installation signals an investment in renewable energy for public healthcare infrastructure, the proposed Bonny Emergency Centre project remains a future commitment in the document.
Its delivery, capacity and commissioning date will determine when the anticipated benefits reach Bonny residents.
