Contrary to insinuations making the rounds, the project implementer for the Bonny Ring Road project, Darycet International has assured that it is on course to deliver the project within the agreed timelines.

The company gave this assurance on Friday, October 24, 2025 amidst rumours that its has pulled out of site due to unresolved issues.

Staff of the company who spoke to Kristina Reports in separate chats at its project site at Ogugumanga (Coconut Estate) in Olom Abalama (Oguede) Community in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, debunked the rumours as false.

This is just as the Chief and Head of Jack Manilla Chieftaincy House of Bonny Kingdom, Se-Alabo Iganima Jack Manilla Pepple also dismissed such insinuations as unfounded, saying his community supports the speedy delivery of the project given its importance to the people of Bonny.

Intelligence Officer of the Darycet International, Festus Nwokocha told Kristina Reports that it was not true that company has left site, showing the Kristina Reports team around the project site, asserting that the company was even bringing in more materials to continue the job.

“The rumour is not true. It’s false. We can’t pull out of site. We are 100% ready here to deliver this Bonny Ring Road project.”

“We understand how important this project is to Bonny Kingdom, and to the Federal Government. The project is so important to them, that is why we are here to deliver. We are 100% ready. As you can see, thank God you are here.”

“All our equipment are here. Offices. When you check there, our batch of plants is ready. Look at the way bridge there. Everything. Every equipment is here. Look at the piling sheets down there. We are not pulling out. I don’t think there will be any reason for us to pull out of this job.”

Nwokocha stated that the company has been enjoying a smooth relationship with the Oguede Community and its owners, the Jack Manilla Chieftaincy House of Bonny Kingdom, adding that his company remains grateful for the support given by the community.

“We are having a very smooth and commendable relationship with the communities. So far, so good. We have not had any issues with them.”

“We are working smoothly and we love their cooperation, I must commend them; we love their cooperation so far. So, no problem with them.”

On his part, the company’s Assistant Community Relations Officer, Sofiri Jumbo stated that they were actively working on the project and also importing materials and equipment from Port Harcourt in lieu of the job.

“We are still on, fully active. We are not shutting down. Anybody who is feeling towards that, we are not shutting down.”

“What we know is that Bonny Kingdom has a very high view of this project and we gave our assurance that very day that this project will be carried on and which we have been doing.”

‘So, no project is going down. The project has been fully active. So, what I would say nobody should go about passing any rumours or such.”

“We are fully mobilized. Our equipment are here. If you go to the site, you will still see our materials are intact. I can that more materials are still coming in. We are still expecting more materials from Lagos down to Bonny. More badges are still coming with our materials.”

“So, what I would say is that we are still on fully and we are sure that the project will continue the way we started. We will continue and finish up this project.”

In a brief chat with Kristina Reports at Oguede, Se-Alabo Iganima Jack Manilla Pepple stated given the importance of the project to Bonny people, especially, the Amanyanabo of Bonny Kingdom, his community decided to support by making its land available for the company to have its project site.

“Given the importance of this project to every Bonny person, especially, our revered King, that is why our community are very proud to support by giving our land for them to use.”

“There is no plan for the company to leave. I have been passing there and there is no sign that they are leaving; they’re even bringing in more equipment. Does that show that they want to leave?”

“We are hopeful that this project will be completed in record to the benefit of our people and we believe the company will deliver the project.”

The Bonny Ring Road is expected to connect over 100 communities upon completion thus easing the population density in Bonny, as well as providing offshoots from the Bodo-Bonny Road which is nearing completion.
