Movement has been immediately restricted across Biseni community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, following reported road barricades, bonfires and a breakdown of law and order that prompted Governor Douye Diri to impose a 24-hour curfew.
The emergency directive followed briefings from security commanders on the situation, with the governor ordering security operatives to move in and restore peace, protect lives and property, and prevent further escalation.

In a statement issued on Friday, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, said some individuals had barricaded roads leading into and within the community, while bonfires were lit in parts of the area.
The government did not identify those responsible for the disturbances or disclose what triggered the unrest.
Residents have been urged to remain calm, obey the curfew and cooperate with security personnel as authorities work to restore normalcy.
The statement did not provide details of any arrests, casualties or further security measures.
