BREAKING: History Made as Ikwerre Son, John Azuta-Mbata, Emerges Ohanaeze Ndigbo President

In a purely historical development, the apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has elected John Azuta-Mbata, an Ikwerre indigene, as its 13th President General.
Azuta-Mbata, a former Senator who represented Rivers East in the National Assembly between 1999 and 2007, won the historic election which took place during a stakeholders’ meeting at the Old Government Lodge in Enugu, Enugu State.

Delegates from across the nation gathered to chart a fresh course for the respected organization that champions Igbo unity and cultural heritage.
Azuta-Mbata is widely regarded for his political clout and unwavering dedication to advancing the Igbo cause.
His rise to the top position has sparked excitement among Ndigbo both at home and in the diaspora, with many expressing optimism about his vision for a stronger, more united Ohanaeze.
“This is a victory for every Igbo son and daughter,” said one enthusiastic delegate. “We are ready for a new chapter under Azuta-Mbata’s leadership.”
With Azuta-Mbata at the helm, all eyes are now on what lies ahead for the revered organization and the Igbo people.
