The developmental trajectory of Finima Community will be sustained just as its capacity to continue to support the growth of Nigeria’s economy, the Amadabo of Finima, Aseme Alabo Dagogo Lambert Brown, Kongo XVII, has said.

Aseme Alabo Brown, who said this on Sunday, January 12, 2025 during his third coronation anniversary in Finima, Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, predicated the trend on divine assistance.

Amadabo of Finima, Aseme Alabo Dagogo Lambert Brown, Kongo XVII, in a joyful mood during the occasion.

He noted that since his emergence as the Chief and Head of Buoye Omuso Brown Major House, as well as Amadabo of Finima, there have been unrelenting attacks on his person and the people of Finima, asserting that despite the evil machinations against the community, it will continue to progress.

“It is needful to appreciate and celebrate the grace and mercies of God. The Bible says, it’s not of him that runneth, nor of him that willeth. But it is of God, that sheweth mercy.”

“It is not by our own making or my craftiness or by might, it is how God has ordained it; allowed His will at all times to come to pass in my life and in the affairs of the community.”

“My election was attacked by court in July 25th, 2021. As being obedient to the rule of law, we had to follow the due process of law, until that injunction was set aside. The injunction for my election was set aside on the 10th of January 2022.

“And on the 12th of January 2022, my installation and coronation as the Head and Chief of the Buoye Omuso Brown House, and Amadabo of Finima was effected on the 12th day of January 2022. That also was attacked immediately in two weeks’ time.”

He stated that at the core of the grouse against him and his people is their refusal to allow the imposition of a Chief and Head on them from outside Finima Community, stating that as far back as the 11th century, Finima has been existing under various rulerships beginning from Kongo I.

“I was in Lagos, hearing that the King of Bonny and the Amanyanabo-in-Council is putting up another Chief Brown in Bonny. And so, what we did as a House is to report to relevant authorities because you cannot have two chiefs in one House at the same time.”

“And secondly, no one outside the House or the Community can go and appoint another chief in another place and to be sent to impose on us.”

He called on the people of Finima Community to remain resolute in their quest for the development and progress of their land, stressing that no amount of intimidation or propaganda will distract him from defending his kinsmen.

“Finima is one of the communities that constitute Bonny as a Kingdom and Bonny as a Local Government Council or Area. Finima is not like any other community in Bonny Kingdom. Finima is not like any other community in Bonny Local Government Area.”

“The uniqueness of Finima has to do with our involuntary resettlement that gave way for the establishment of the NLNG that is a key economic wellbeing of Nigeria.”

The occasion, which was a sit-out inside the palace garden in Finima, was attended by the crème-de-la-crème of the community, with enough sumptuous delicacies, music and expression of goodwill and felicitation to the celebrant by the esteemed guests.
