Nigerian music stars Davido, Rema and Omah Lay have been announced among the first wave of artistes for Afro Nation Portugal 2027.
The festival organisers unveiled the first lineup on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, ahead of the seventh edition scheduled for June 9 to 11, 2027, at Praia da Rocha beach in Portimão, Portugal.
Davido and Rema are among the three announced headline acts alongside Congolese singer Fally Ipupa, while Omah Lay is part of the wider first-wave lineup on the LIT Stage.
The first announcement also includes GIMS as a special guest alongside artistes such as Victony, Odeal, Shenseea, Valiant, Rayvanny, Bamby and Miimii KDS.
The organisers described Davido, Rema and Fally Ipupa as “three giants of African music” in announcing the headline lineup.
The 2027 festival will take place at Praia da Rocha in Portimão, Algarve, marking a return to the Portuguese coastal city where Afro Nation was launched in 2019.
The main festival will run for three days from Wednesday, June 9 to Friday, June 11, 2027, with an opening party scheduled for Tuesday, June 8 and a closing party on Saturday, June 12.
The official festival information confirms that the event is an 18-plus festival and requires valid photo identification for entry.
The LIT Stage lineup will also feature Omah Lay, Victony, Shenseea, Valiant, Rayvanny, Odeal, Bamby and Miimii KDS among the first wave of performers.
The Piano People Stage will feature Kabza De Small, TxC, Dlala Thukzin, 2woBunnies, Benzo, Thatohatsi, Uncool MC, W4DE, Xduppy B2B Al Xapo, Young Stunna and Zee Nxumalo.
The Afrotronic Stage will feature Caiiro, Djeff, Jamiie, Aniko and JNR SA as part of the first announcement.
The festival is moving to earlier dates in June for its 2027 edition after recent editions were held later in the summer.
Afro Nation has also confirmed that ticket pre-sale is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, while general sales are expected to open on Wednesday, September 30.
The 2027 announcement extends Nigeria’s prominent presence at the Portuguese festival, with Davido returning to the event after previous appearances while Rema and Omah Lay add further Nigerian representation to the lineup.
Further performers are expected to be announced as preparations continue for the 2027 edition.
