Eleme Students Celebrate Cultural Day in Unity, Tradition

The Rivers State University Chapter of the National Association of Eleme Students (NAES) marked its Cultural Day with vibrant celebrations that highlighted the rich traditions and unity of the Eleme people.
The event held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Rivers State University campus, Nkpolu Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, which serves as both the home base and primary constituency of the NAES National President, Anderson Philip, and the national executives of the association, who actively participated in the festivities.
In his speech, he extended a goodwill message to the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Eleme LGA, Brain Gokpa, who was represented by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Noble Nwolu.
“We deeply appreciate our CTC Chairman, Chief Brian Gokpa, for his unwavering support and vital role in making this event a resounding success.”
The Cultural Day was graced by the Paramount Ruler of Alesa Community, His Royal Highness, Emere Sir Emperor Nkpe II, Oneh-Eh-Alesa X, along with other distinguished dignitaries, guests, and members of the student community.
This year’s event was particularly remarkable, featuring a colourful display of Eleme culture and traditions. Students showcased traditional dances, music, and attire, reflecting the deep heritage of their community.
President of the Rivers State University Chapter of NAES, Desire Nwolu demonstrated exceptional leadership and organizational skills, which were key to the event’s success.
His commitment to the celebration was evident in every aspect of the day. In his closing remarks, he emphasized the significance of such cultural displays in fostering unity among the people.
“Today reminds us of the importance of our roots and the beauty of our traditions,” he concluded.
