Again, Evomec Global Services Limited (EGSL) has continued to raise the bar in its community stakeholding drive as it partners the Bonny Local Government to expand road networks and make commuting around Bonny Island motorable during the yuletide season.
This time it’s the Simidia Road connecting Abalamabie Road with Waterwell Road and Workers Camp Road which helps both pedestrians and motorist to seamlessly connect the Oguede/Abalamabie axis with the Waterwell and Willbros Road axis.
This helps commuters bypass the ever clogged Akiama by Willbros Road junction where vehicles coming from Abalamabie, Akiama, Hospital, Willbros, and Waterwell Roads, amongst others meet and almost always create a logjam.
The heavy traffic that builds up at that junction especially in the evenings when workers are returning from various worksites can last for hours and create undue frustration for beleaguered workers who just want to get home to their families.
With the opening up of the Simidia Road all the way to Waterwell 5, residents of Oguede, Abalamabie, Akiama, and others can now heave a sigh of relief.
The road which has been unmotorable for years due to the marshy terrain, has now been revamped and earthworks done there.
Kristina Reports team which visited the area stumbled on staff of Evomec with construction equipment grading the road, emplacing a stone base and stabilizing it to be strong enough to carry the weight of traffic during this Yuletide season.
Obviously, Evomec has continued to ensure that its ongoing partnership in infrastructural development with the Bonny Local Government is sustained with the delivery of optimum and sustainable projects in the interest of the people of Bonny.
