“Farmer’s Bride Joins ₦100 Million Box Office Club, Grosses ₦113.6 Million”

Farmer’s Bride, released on September 27, 2024, continues to make waves in Nigerian and Ghanaian cinemas, achieving another box office milestone.

The film, directed by Adebayo Tijani and Jack’enneth Opukeme, has now grossed ₦113.6 million, as announced by its producers and distributors, FilmOne Studios.

In a statement, FilmOne Studios celebrated the film’s success, saying, “100m in the bag! Kicking off this new week with this mega-milestone.”

“Thank you Nigeria and Ghana for the love and support you’ve shown this movie.”

” Farmer’s Bride is still showing in all cinemas.”

” Don’t miss this number-one movie!”

The film had already made headlines earlier this month when it recorded ₦89 million in ticket sales just 12 days after its release.

During its opening weekend, Farmer’s Bride earned ₦37 million, making it the second highest-grossing film for that weekend, behind Queen Lateefah.

It also became the highest-grossing Nollywood film for an 18-rated movie in 2024, ranking as the 4th highest for the year.

Set in 1980s Ibadan, Farmer’s Bride tells the story of Odun, a wealthy but lonely farmer who marries a young bride, Funmi.

However, their marriage faces difficulties as Funmi struggles to find joy and eventually begins a forbidden affair with Odun’s nephew.

The consequences of their actions unfold in a tale of love, betrayal, and the supernatural.

The film features a star-studded cast including Tobi Bakre, Gbubemi Ejeye, Femi Branch, Mercy Aigbe, Efe Irele, and Wumi Toriola.
