Nigeria forward Gift Orban earned Goal of the Month award for September after his breathtaking long-range rocket against Beşiktaş was crowned the finest strike in the Turkish Süper Lig.
If you watched Amedspor’s thrilling 3–2 home victory over Beşiktaş on September 20, you already know why this award was never in doubt.
The 24-year-old Super Eagles forward produced a moment of absolute magic in the 13th minute, unleashing an unstoppable long-range shot that left the goalkeeper stranded and sent the home crowd into raptures.
The Turkish Süper Lig officially confirmed the news across their digital channels, thanking the fans who made their voices heard online:
“The most beautiful goal of Trendyol Süper Lig in September has been determined by the votes you cast in the polls on our Instagram and X accounts,” the league announced on their social media pages.
The voting outcome was a complete landslide. Orban swept past Beşiktaş defender Emirhan Topçu by claiming a staggering 90% of the total votes.
Over 8,751 fans cast their ballots on X (formerly Twitter) alone, alongside a massive 23,000 interactions on Instagram to seal the victory for the Nigerian international.
Since joining Amed on a season-long loan deal from German Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim in July 2026, the sharp-shooting striker has been in sensational form.
Under the guidance of manager Besnik Hasi, Orban has adapted seamlessly to life in Turkey, bagging seven goals and providing two assists in just six league appearances.
His explosive form has fired him straight to the top of the Süper Lig scoring charts, where he currently sits joint-top alongside Trabzonspor forward Mohamed Salah.
Fans can watch the Nigerian star back in action on Saturday, October 10, when Amed hit the road to face Gençlerbirliği in their next league clash.
