“I Made a Switch to Basketball After My Friends Ridiculed Me in Football” – King
A 12-year-old Nigerian basketball prodigy, Oluba Olabode King revealed that he switched from football to basketball after facing ridicule from his friends during his football games.
Born October 12, 2012, King, a JSS3 student at Oduduwa High School, Lagos, plays with New Generation Millennium kids and youth groups under the tutelage of Coach Stevens.
King, is a lover of Lebron James and Michael Jordan because of their speed, good dunks and overall legendary footprints in basketball.
Speaking on his aspirations and dream team, King said he aspires to play basketball professionally for Nigeria, as he looks forward to playing against other great Basketball nations.
On a club level, King wants to follow his idol Lebron and play for the Lakers in the NBA.
Being the only child of his parents, Mr and Mrs Oluba Adubi. King said his mum Mrs Ajoke is his greatest supporter.
King trains morning, afternoon and evening to achieve his dreams and aspirations. His favourite Basketball skill is dunking.
