IGP Approves New Police Spokespersons For Commands, Formations

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the deployment of new Police Public Relations Officers and Public Relations Liaison Officers to selected commands and formations of the Nigeria Police Force.

The posting was contained in a press statement made available on the Force’s official X handle by its Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, on Friday October 9, 2026. According to Iniedu, the posting is aimed at strengthening strategic communication, improving public access to credible information and enhancing media relations.

Under the new deployment, Superintendent of Police Johnson Doghudje has been posted as the Police Public Relations Officer for Zone Five, while SP Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji has been assigned to Zone Eleven, Osogbo.

Similarly, Deputy Superintendent of Police Orchia Adndongu has been deployed to the Benue State Police Command, while DSP Imah Unwana Victor has been posted to the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre.

The Force said the appointments are part of efforts to ensure effective information dissemination and strengthen collaboration between the police, the media and members of the public. It added that the deployment would enhance communication across the affected commands and formations, while ensuring that credible information is made readily available to the public.
