Jubilation as Allison Major House Installs Chief and Head in Bonny

There is an air of excitement and fanfare across the Allison Group of Houses as the Nwaoju Allison Major Chieftaincy House, Bilibilibo Jamaica Allison House and Ada Allison House, all of Grand Bonny Kingdom, converge to perform the capping ceremony of Dr Daddy Ibiewotogha Dappa Allison as Nwaoju Warialabo XX.

A statement signed by the Chiefs and Heads of the Bilibilibo Jamaica Allison House and Ada Allison House, Se-Alabo Archibald Tamunoala Sotonye Jamaica Allison and Se-Alabo Benjamin Ada-Allison, and Chairman of the Installation and Capping Ceremony Planning Committee, Warisenibo Anthony Fombo, on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 announced the event.

The statement said the event would hold at the Nwaoju Allison Major House Opuwari on Saturday, March 15, 2025 by 11am.

Checks by Kristina Reports indicate that the Wariopuseniapu, Wariseniapu, Ogbobiri Asawo, Asawo and Ere-Awo are all upbeat about the event.

A visit to the Opuwari by a team from Kristina Reports showed a whole lot of activities ongoing such as painting, decorations and adornment of the venue with traditional paraphernalia, as well as arrangement of furniture ahead of the epoch making event.

The historical significance of the occasion cannot be overemphasized as the Nwaoju Allison Major Chieftaincy House is widely regarded as the first chieftaincy house to be created by King Perekule I.

According to Ibani customs and tradition, the event would be supervised by a delegation of at least three members of the Bonny Council of Chiefs (BCC) whose duty is to ensure that the traditional rites and protocols are adhered to throughout the installation and capping process.

Checks by Kristina Reports reveal that, according to the Bonny Constitution and extant Ibani customs and tradition, the installation and capping ceremony is the first leg of the chief making process.

The second and culmination aspect is the presentation to the Amanyanabo-in-Council, who will receive and formally induct the chief into the Bonny Chiefs Council. Once inducted into the BCC, the chief transitions from a Wari-Alabo (house chief) to Se-Alabo (country chief) and henceforth assists the Amanyanabo to administer the Kingdom.

As all roads lead to the Nwaoju Allison Major House Opuwari on Saturday morning, visitors and residents alike will be treated to scintillating traditional music while the town will be regaled by daintily dressed gentlemen and ladies adorning agelong Bonny traditional attires.
