Stakeholders in Jumbo Major House under the aegis of Jumbo Major House Restoration Group have called out Finima Community for causing unnecessary tension in Bonny Island, asserting that Bonny Kingdom comprising 35 chieftaincy houses remain one under one King.

The group led by Samuel Jumbo made these assertions on Thursday, July 4, 2024 in a statement made exclusively available to Kristina Reports in Bonny, Rivers State.

“We are one kingdom and remain so under our amiable King, His Majesty, King Dr Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, DSSRS, JP, Edward I, Perekule XI. It is therefore an affront to the Kingdom and throne for Finima Community to be heating up the polity needlessly.”

“The blockade they went to do at the Daewoo Train 7 project site is outrightly provocative because they know that the Train 7 site is entirely Jumbo Major House land and such action is call to anarchy.”

“There is no Finima and Bonny. There is only one Bonny Kingdom comprising the various chieftaincy houses, of which Attoni, Brown and Tobin Houses are part of. The ceaseless affront to our dear King and provocative utterances are uncalled for and should henceforth stop.”

“Jumbo House and Brown House are co-landlords to Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and it is part of that land that was given by Shell for the NLNG plant to be built. So, obviously, Jumbo House is also a co-landlord to NLNG and whatever is given to Brown House also goes to Jumbo House.”

The group warned the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) and its contractor, SCD JV (Saipem, Chiyoda and Daewoo Joint Venture) to ensure equal attention is accorded and equal benefits advanced to both families to avoid any unrest and unnecessary tension in the land.

The Jumbo Major House Restoration Group commended the Amanyanabo of Bonny Kingdom for his calm disposition and fatherly approach, expressing optimism that the individuals and groups who are bent on destabilizing the Kingdom and causing crisis would continue to fail.
