JUST IN: Tension as Two Storey Building Under Construction Collapses in Umuahia

A two-storey building under construction has collapsed at Amangwu Ohokobe, Ndume in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State.

Speaking with Kristina Reports at the scene of the incident, an eyewitness, Evelyn Chibuzo expressed great shock over the sudden collapse of the building which has been roofed.

She however thanked God that nobody was inside the building at the time it collapsed.

Though the cause of the building collapse has not been ascertained as at the time of filing this report, residents of the area attributed the collapse of the two storey building to use of poor and substandard materials by the engineer handling the job.

The Abia State Government and the State Police Command were yet to make a statement on the incident as at the time of this report.
