Kidnap Plot Busted in Abuja: FCT Police Arrest Three, Foil Abduction of Doctor in Zuba

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers and foiled a planned abduction of a medical doctor in the Zuba area of Abuja.

The Command announced the breakthrough on Thursday, August 6, 2026, following a security operation aimed at dismantling kidnapping networks and preventing criminal activities within the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the Police, the suspects were apprehended in connection with an attempted kidnapping and a separate plot targeting a medical doctor in Zuba.

The latest operation is part of intensified efforts by the FCT Police Command to disrupt criminal networks, particularly kidnappers who have continued to target residents and communities within the nation’s capital.

The Command has recently recorded a number of breakthroughs against suspected kidnappers in the FCT, including the arrest of three suspects in Zuba following digital forensic analysis of a viral video allegedly showing individuals armed with AK-47 rifles and walkie-talkies.

The police authorities have assured residents that security operations will continue across the FCT to deny criminal elements the opportunity to establish safe havens within the territory.

Residents have also been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons, movements and activities to the police and other security agencies.

The latest arrest underscores the growing efforts of security agencies to prevent kidnappers from carrying out planned attacks and to keep residents of Abuja safe.
