For centuries, the Jaja dynasty of Opobo has been known for its deep-rooted values of peace, diplomacy, and selfless leadership.
From the legendary King Jaja to his successor, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, Jeki V, Amanyanabo, Natural Ruler and Treaty King of Opobo Kingdom, the tradition of peace has remained unshaken. It is the very essence of every Opobo and Ibani-Ijaw man.

Little wonder Governor Siminalayi Fubara, himself a proud son of Opobo, has consistently emphasized peace as the only viable solution to the lingering political tensions in Rivers State.
This principle has not only defined his leadership but has also influenced his supporters, shaping their approach to governance and crisis resolution.
During his recent appearance on Arise TV, King Jaja once again displayed the rare attributes of royalty, embodying the wisdom and composure that have long defined the Jaja dynasty.
His measured words and calm disposition stood out, even as political tensions rage across the State.
While many expected him to take a more aggressive stance, especially given Governor Fubara’s roots in Opobo, the revered monarch chose the path of peace and stability.
His refusal to be drawn into political confrontations, particularly in assigning blame to the Presidency, sparked mixed reactions.
Yet, in the grander scheme, King Jaja’s approach exemplifies true leadership, the kind that transcends emotions and prioritizes the greater good.
Indeed, peace is the hallmark of true kingship, and through King Jaja’s stance, the world has once again witnessed the strength and dignity of the Ibani-Ijaw people.
