Metallica has announced 12 additional North American shows for the M72 World Tour in 2027, with Limp Bizkit and Avatar joining the band across the newly scheduled dates.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, with the new run scheduled to begin on Saturday, May 8, 2027, at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada, and conclude on Saturday, June 19, at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The 12-date itinerary will take the tour through Canada and the United States, with stops in Vancouver, San Diego, El Paso, San Antonio, Fayetteville, Kansas City, Raleigh, Indianapolis, Buffalo, Madison, Cleveland and Salt Lake City.
The complete schedule opens with Vancouver on May 8, followed by Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego on May 13, Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso on May 18 and the Alamodome in San Antonio on May 22.
The tour continues to Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville on May 26 and Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on May 29 before reaching Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh on June 2.
Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis will host the June 5 performance, followed by Highmark Stadium in Buffalo on June 8, Camp Randall Stadium in Madison on June 12, Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland on June 15 and Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City on June 19.
Unlike several earlier M72 engagements, the 2027 North American dates will feature single shows in each city rather than the tour’s two-night No Repeat Weekend format.
Metallica said the new run would retain the M72 production, with the stage positioned at midfield in an in-the-round configuration and the Snake Pit placed at the centre.
The band described the setup as a stadium production with the Snake Pit providing a “complete 360° view of the show.”
Metallica also explained the decision to continue the tour, saying, “We have been having so much fun on the road that we’re going to keep M72 rolling!”
The band said it had performed 99 M72 shows across 26 countries since the tour began in April 2023.
For the 2027 North American run, the band said it would visit a mixture of NFL and CFL stadiums, colleges and venues associated with both men’s and women’s soccer teams.
Limp Bizkit and Avatar will provide support throughout the 12 newly announced dates, marking their return to the M72 touring cycle alongside Metallica.
Tickets for the new shows will go on general sale on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 10 a.m. local time.
Metallica’s Fifth Member Fan Club presales will begin on Monday, September 21, with Legacy Members gaining access at 10 a.m. local time and other Fifth Members following at noon.
Citi cardholders and eligible Verizon customers will have access to presales from Tuesday, September 22, at 10 a.m. local time, while additional venue-specific presales will take place during the week.
The 2027 shows will also offer enhanced experiences, including meet-and-greet opportunities, production and stage tours, Black Box Lounge access, early venue entry and Snake Pit tickets.
Fans will also be able to access the I Disappear Ticket, which covers attendance at every 2027 North American M72 show, alongside travel packages that include combinations of accommodation, tickets and local transportation.
A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to local charities through Metallica’s All Within My Hands foundation.
The foundation was established in 2017 and, according to the band’s announcement, has raised more than $20 million, including $19 million in grants for career and technical education programmes, more than $8.8 million for food insecurity and over $6.2 million for disaster relief and other local services.
The new North American dates will extend the M72 World Tour into its fifth calendar year after its April 2023 launch.
The tour’s 2027 stadium run will therefore continue the M72 era with 12 single-night performances, two returning support acts and the same circular stadium production that has become a defining feature of the tour.
