All is set for the grand finale of the 2026 Miss World Festival in Nha Trang, Vietnam, with Nigeria’s representative, Queen Tamunosoye Karibi George, receiving strong support from a high-powered Nigerian delegation and an unprecedented wave of African solidarity.
The Nigerian delegation includes representatives of the Federal Government, Rivers and Bayelsa states, the Miss World Nigeria organisation, the Silverbird Group, as well as members of Queen Soye’s immediate and extended family.
The Federal Government is represented by the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, who is leading a high-powered delegation on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Rivers State is also strongly represented, with the Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Information and Communications, Dr. Honour Sirawoo, attending on behalf of the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara. Sirawoo is leading the state delegation at the event.
The delegation also includes Professor Steve Azaiki, a former Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government and former member of the House of Representatives, who currently serves as Chairman of Miss World Nigeria.
Also present is Udengs Eradiri, a prominent Bayelsa-based activist and politician.
The Silverbird Group, which is responsible for the Miss World Nigeria franchise, is represented by its National Director, Miss World Nigeria, Guy Murray-Bruce, alongside members of the organisation’s creative and management team.
Queen Soye’s family is equally well represented, with her parents, Karibi George and Ebitari George, among other family members, joining the delegation in Vietnam.
Her uncle, Dr. Dawari George, a former member of the House of Representatives, is also present, alongside members of the Prince George Group of Houses and communities of Buguma in Rivers State and the Aganaba Royal Family of Odi in Bayelsa State.
TeamSoye lead, Prince Iwefa Aganaba, described the grand finale as a “coronation ceremony” dedicated to recognising and rewarding beauty with a purpose.
The Nigerian delegation has expressed excitement over Queen Soye’s performance throughout the competition, with her strong showing generating growing optimism ahead of the final event.
The Nigerian camp has also highlighted the level of African support behind the contestant, describing the solidarity around her as unprecedented in the history of the competition.
As the world turns its attention to Nha Trang for the final stage of the Miss World Festival, Nigeria’s delegation is projecting confidence and unity behind its representative.
With the finale now upon them, the message from Team Nigeria is emphatic: Nigeria is ready. Nigeria is here. Nigeria, it is our day.
