The Nigerian Police Force have arrested singer, comedian, and content creator Darlington Okoye, also known as Speed Darlington, for allegedly cyberstalking fellow musician, Damini Ogulu, aka, Burna Boy.
Kristina Reports gathered today, Tuesday, October 8 2024 that Speed Darlington was arrested by the police last Friday, October 4, 2024 and is currently being held at the headquarters of the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team, located in the Guzape area of Abuja.
Speed Darlington was initially arrested in Lagos and moved between various police stations before being transferred to Abuja, where he was detained by the Intelligence Response Team over accusations of cyberstalking Burna Boy.
Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju has already visited the musician and has made it known that he has reviewed the petition filed against Speed Darlington by Burna Boy and assured the public that plans are currently being made for his release.
“I have met with Speed Darlington, and he’s in high spirits. We’re working to secure his release on bail as soon as possible,” Adeyanju confirmed.
A police ACP investigating the case informed Adeyanju that while they couldn’t provide a copy of the petition, they allowed Speed’s lawyer to read and understand its contents.
Remember that, Speed Darlington’s mother, Queen had posted a video, claiming that Burna Boy and his team were behind her son’s disappearance.
In an emotional video, Queen shared that Speed Darlington’s gateman told her that Burna Boy and his entourage had taken her son away.
She pleaded desperately, even kneeling, for Burna Boy to release him. Her plea followed Speed Darlington being declared missing.
“Nigerians, please help me, my son Speed Darlington has been missing for over four days after he posted a video about Burna Boy and Diddy.”
“Burna Boy and his squad, along with the police, came to his house and arrested Akpi. Please help me beg Burna Boy to release my only son,”
