Nigerian Referees Pass AFCON Futsal Fitness Test in Morocco

Two FIFA-badged Nigerian match officials, Ojeleye John Tope and Bello Alhassan Zuru, have cleared critical health and physical conditioning assessments ahead of the continental tournament in Morocco.

Both Nigerian referees pass AFCON Futsal fitness test procedures and medical evaluations required by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to secure their spots in the final officiating pool.

The Nigeria Football Referees’ Association (NFRA) officially confirmed that the duo successfully crossed all initial pre-tournament hurdles.

By clearing their medical screenings and physical endurance assessments, both officials have qualified to participate in the classroom lectures and practical field-work sessions organized by CAF.

The NFRA expressed great pride in the achievement, noting that the success of Tope and Zuru highlights the growing quality and recognition of Nigerian officiating on the international stage.

Reacting to the successful screenings, the Acting President of the NFRA, Sir Kelechi Mejuobi, described their qualification as the direct reward for relentless preparation and commitment.

“This milestone is a product of intensive training and a series of rigorous assessments,” Sir Mejuobi stated. “Earning a place in the elite futsal referee cadre reflects their personal dedication, discipline, and determination to represent Nigeria with honor on the continental stage.”

On behalf of the entire association, the NFRA leadership extended its best wishes to both referees for a successful tournament outing and wished them safe travels as they fulfill their duty in Morocco.
