Bayelsa Queens have emerged champions of the 2025 Nigerian Women’s Football League for the sixth time in their history, having previously won it in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2018, and 2021–22.
The Yenagoa-based side thumped Naija Ratels in the final Matchday of the Super Six, winning 4-1, courtesy of a Hat-trick from Vera Micheal and a goal from Mega Cynthia at the Remo Sports Institute in Ikenne Remo Ogun State.

The win ensured Bayelsa finished top of the standings with 10 points, surpassing Nasarawa Amazons who had nine points after a goalless draw with fellow chasers Edo Queens(eight points.)
The Prosperity Girls will smile to the bank with ₦10 million after a stellar season that saw them have a 17-game unbeaten run – not suffering any loss throughout the League phase and winning three out of four games in the Super Six to clinch the title.

They are now the third most successful female Club in NWFL history and will represent Nigeria in the 2025 West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Women’s Champions League Qualifiers, hoping to emerge victorious and qualify for the competition proper, where they placed third in 2022.
The winner of the 2025 WAFU-B Qualifiers will represent the West African sub-region at the CAF Women’s Champions League.
