The Nigerian Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called for urgent government action following reports of mass abductions and killings in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
Obi made the call this Thursday, saying the reported attacks on communities and worshippers during Juma’at prayers should “shake the conscience of every Nigerian.”

He said as many as 600 people, mostly women, children and elderly persons, may have been abducted, while about 30 others were reportedly killed.
Obi urged the government to deploy intelligence-led operations to rescue the victims, secure affected communities and dismantle the networks enabling the attackers.
