The much-anticipated Owerri Preprenwa Trade Fair opened on Thursday, December 11, 2025, bringing a vibrant blend of commerce, entertainment and community engagement to the city.
The three-day fair, holding at City Primary School, Fire Service Junction, Wetheral Road, Owerri, drew traders, families and fun seekers from different parts of Imo State.

The event is packaged by Precious Iheanacho, who described the fair as a platform designed to unite business and entertainment in a relaxed environment.
“This fair is about giving visibility to businesses while also giving people a place to unwind, shop and have fun,” she said.
The Imo State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) backed the initiative, noting that the fair offers an opportunity to stimulate local trade and social bonding.
SWAN stated that the event presents “a positive avenue for residents to engage in economic and recreational activities that benefit the entire community.”
Visitors were welcomed into a lively marketplace where vendors showcased products ranging from fashion and household items to food, beverages and creative crafts.
Beyond buying and selling, the fair featured competitive games and sport-themed activities aimed at encouraging participation among both adults and young people.
One of the highlights was the dancing competitions, where buyers and sellers took turns showcasing their skills in friendly contests that added excitement to the atmosphere.
Live comedy sessions also kept the crowd entertained, with performers delivering humorous content that lightened up the busy trading day.
Raffle draws with assorted prizes further energized the crowd and encouraged active engagement among attendees.
Prominent personalities, including former Imo Chief of Staff Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, were among the notable figures expected to grace the event.
Organizers said the fair was structured to ensure there were no dull moments throughout the three-day period.
The Owerri Preprenwa Trade Fair continues until Saturday, December 13, 2025, with more exhibitions and entertainment lined up for visitors.
