Pastor Shot 4 Times Over Alleged Infidelity

The Resident Pastor of Rhema Voice of the Cross Ministry in Daka-Ama, Mainland in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State, Richard Ogan was shot and confirmed dead on Sunday, November 16, 2024 beside Mainland Clinic on his way to church.

Kristina Reports gathered that from sources that the deceased was allegedly involved in scandals of infidelity and has been on the run for years until he met his waterloo.

A man, who addressed himself only as Deinma, told newsmen that the deceased has been accused of infidelity on several occasions and has been escaping assassination attempts until the said day.

“Around 4am, we hear four gunshots, when we finally come out, we see people gather, them don beat am, him eye don swell up, him head…..church people see am, instead dem go rush am go hospital, them carry am go church dey pray, close all the doors.

Dr. Benson, wey dey mainland clinic wan go check the man, them no gree make him come inside. As them see say dem no fit do anything, dem carry am go Collins Clinic, before General Hospital. By the time them go carry am come back to Mainland Clinic, him don go.”

Another respondent, Jenny said the cause of death is over a feud that has lasted for years.

“Since 2020, him go sleep with one man, dem dey call am Icrappu, say na second in a command, him wife wey him don do okuru kaka with, this pastor go sleep with am, con even marry am sef.

“The Icrappu come complain, once them beat am na, almost kill am but they con carry am comot for Okrika because the boys dem still dey waka around dey find am.

“That was 2022, him come back. Since then, na so members dey complain, how him dey worry them. The Icrappu say he even slept with the daughter, pregnant am con make her abort am. So I believe say them don dey mark am since. So that day, nai dem finally catch am.”

Another set of eyewitnesses from the surrounding area reported that Pastor Ogan had stepped out to prepare the church’s technical equipment when he was confronted and shot three times, based on the number of gunshots heard.

It was reported that Pastor Richard Ogan is preparing for a programme meant to kick-start from Monday to Saturday, November 25 to 30, 2024.

The deceased was declared dead at 7am on Sunday with three bullets shots and several injuries.

Efforts to reach the medical doctors, the deceased family and others proved futile as at press time.
