Rivers Speaker Tasks Business Community on Roadmap for Economic Development

The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Victor Oko-Jumbo has charged the business community to develop a roadmap for the economic development of the State.
Oko-Jumbo gave this charge on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 when a delegation from the Bonny Indigenous Contractors and Suppliers Association (BICSA) led by its Chairman, Gift Alex-Hart paid him a courtesy visit in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Expressing his gratitude to BICSA for the visit, the Rivers Assembly Speaker stated that the current administration in the State led by Governor Siminalayi Fubara is poised on improving the living conditions of Rivers people thus needed a blueprint for actualizing his people-centric initiatives.
He acknowledged the diversity of expertise in the association, stating that such kaleidoscope of knowledge and skills are needed for the economic development of the State, assuring that under his watch the State Assembly will partner with BICSA to pursue an agenda of development in the State.

Oko-Jumbo attributed his emergence as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly to divine grace and his humble disposition, advising members of the public to exude humility in order to achieve personal growth and progress in life.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Bonny Indigenous Contractors and Suppliers Association (BICSA), Gift Alex-Hart had congratulated the Speaker on his emergence, noting the pragmatic developmental strides of the State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, asserting that the current administration’s efforts would encourage businesses to thrive in the State.

He informed the Speaker that BICSA was formed to protect and promote the interest of indigenous contractors in Bonny LGA as well as partner with relevant stakeholders in sourcing for and harnessing opportunities for investment.
