The Rivers State Ministry of Education has released the official academic calendar for the 2026/2027 school session for nursery, primary, junior secondary and senior secondary schools across the state.
According to the calendar, the first term begins on Monday, September 7, 2026, and ends on Friday, December 11, 2026, with a mid-term break scheduled for October 23–26.
The second term will run from January 4 to March 25, 2027, while the third term begins on April 19 and ends on July 16, 2027.
The academic session comprises a total of 39 instructional weeks, with the Ministry directing all schools in the state to adhere strictly to the approved calendar.
Parents, schools and teachers can now plan ahead for the 2026/2027 academic session based on the approved dates.
