RSIEC Has Made Rivers People Proud – Chairman-Elect Hails Umpire as LG Election Winners Receive Certificates of Return

The chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, Abinye Pepple has praised the Rivers State independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) for the successful conduct of the elections, as well as the voters for coming out enmasse.
Pepple said this on Monday, September 1, 2025 at RSIEC Headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State shortly after the presentation of certificates of return to winners of last weekend’s local government elections.



He reiterated his campaign promise of revolutionizing grassroots governance and delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Bonny LGA, assuring of a paradigm shift in how the LGA has governed over the years.
He specially thanked the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike for the confidence reposed in him and for the fatherly support he has accorded him over the course of his political journey.
The APC chairmanship candidate was accompanied by his running mate, Ibinyefagha Alabere, alongside the party’s councillorship candidates who also received their certificates of return from the RSIEC Chairman, Dr Michael Odey.
This is sequel party emerging victorious during the Saturday, August 30, 2025 local government elections which held across the 23 LGAs of the State.
With the presentation of certificates of return to the winners of the local government elections, the coast is now clear for their inauguration and resumption of democratic rule in the various LGAs.
