Samuel Chukwueze is suddenly looking like a completely reborn player, and if you watched the Rossoneri put four past Manchester United in Wroclaw, you already know something massive is brewing under Ruben Amorim.
The 27-year-old Nigeria international delivered an impressive performance against the English giants, grabbing a fine goal and two assists in a thrilling 4-2 victory for the Seven-Time European Champions.
But it isn’t just the goal contribution that has everyone talking; it is the unexpected system change that has reshaped his entire game.
Chukwueze was deployed in a surprising new position by Amorim, stepping into a tactical setup he has never played before in his career.
Yet, the Super Eagles star ran the show, adapting seamlessly to the Portuguese tactician’s fresh demands on the pitch.
Determined to lock down a permanent spot in the starting eleven after returning to San Siro, the winger turned heads with his versatility and relentless work rate.
“Yes, he’s a good coach. He trusts me, so he gave me an opportunity. Now it’s up to me to seize it. He simply gave me faith, and I think I have to take advantage of it. I can’t waste this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, returning to Milan after my loan,” Chukwueze told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Adapting to an unfamiliar position isn’t easy, but Chukwueze is embracing the grind with self-belief and total trust in his manager.
“I just have to keep working hard, believing in myself and that I can do it. For me, it’s an opportunity I have to seize. I know it’s a difficult task, but I believe in myself. I know I can do it, that I can do anything,” he said.
While the Italian giants wrapped up their pre-season schedule on a high note, Chukwueze admits the learning process is far from over as he continues to master the tactical details of his new duties.
“Yes, a lot. For me, I think it’s something I need to work on. It’s my first time playing in this position, so I’m continuing to work hard. I need to improve every practice. I think the coaching staff is helping me.”
Whenever mistakes happen, Amorim and his coaching crew are immediately on hand to fine-tune his movement, ensuring the attacker grows sharper with every session.
With Il Diavolo set to kick off their 2026/27 Serie A campaign against Torino at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino on August 23, Chukwueze is in line to start—ready to take Italian football by storm in his newfound role.
