Residents of the Tokulo community in Bwari Area Council, FCT, were left in shock and fear yesterday, October 15th, 2023, after discovering 12 bodies, rumoured to be those of bandits.
Jerry Alkali, the councillor for Igu Ward in the area, confirmed the incident, saying that the bodies were still there as of Tuesday evening.

Alkali also shared that the authorities had been informed, but no official explanation had been given for the presence of the bodies.
Another resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said that none of the victims were from the community, suggesting they may have been hired or brought in before being shot by security forces.
Tokulo, the hometown of the current Bwari Area Council chairman, has faced several attacks by bandits, leading to the deaths of both residents and security officers.
An FCT Special Anti-kidnapping Unit official confirmed the recent incident but declined to give more details about what happened.
Efforts to contact SP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, for comments were unsuccessful.
