Super Eagles Sunday Special: Gift Orban, Onyedika, Moffi, and Sadiq Paint Europe Green-and-White

Sunday turned into an unforgettable festival of goals for Nigerian football fans as Super Eagles stars delivered commanding performances across Europe’s top leagues.

From Turkey to Germany and Spain, Nigeria’s attacking firepower and midfield quality were on full display, headlined by standout displays from Gift Orban, Raphael Onyedika, Terem Moffi, and Umar Sadiq.

Gift Orban’s Masterclass Keeps Amed Sportif Flying High

In the Turkish Super Lig, 24-year-old forward Gift Orban continued his blistering campaign, inspiring Amed Sportif to a ruthless 5-1 thrashing of Eyupspor at the Diyarbakir Stadium.

Orban scored his side’s second goal in the 35th minute before providing an assist seven minutes later for Samuel Ballet, who went on to bag a hat-trick.

The impressive outing extended Orban’s incredible tally to nine goals and four assists in just 10 league matches this season.

Amed Sportif’s victory stretched their unbeaten run to eight matches (six wins, two draws).

Interestingly, Eyupspor’s lone goal came via fellow Nigerian forward Ahmed Abdullahi, but Orban stole the spotlight ahead of next weekend’s high-stakes showdown against Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray.

Onyedika Claims Bragging Rights Over Moffi in Super Eagles Bundesliga Clash

Over in the German Bundesliga, two Super Eagles teammates locked horns at the Volksparkstadion, with Raphael Onyedika’s Eintracht Frankfurt prevailing 3-1 against Terem Moffi’s Hamburger SV.

Terem Moffi drew first blood for the hosts in the 14th minute, displaying sharp instincts to level the score following an early own goal. It marked his third goal in nine appearances since joining Hamburg from OGC Nice.

Raphael Onyedika, however, had the final say. The former Club Brugge midfielder reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box, pouncing on a rebound to score his first-ever goal for Eintracht Frankfurt and put his side ahead.

Onyedika put in a complete 90-minute display in midfield to hand Frankfurt all three points and take home the personal derby bragging rights over Moffi.

Umar Sadiq Comes Off the Bench to Heroically Rescue Valencia

In Spain, Umar Sadiq proved to be Valencia’s savior in LaLiga, coming off the bench to score a dramatic winner in a tight 1-0 victory against Elche at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero.

Introduced after the hour mark, the 29-year-old striker needed just eight minutes on the pitch to make an instant impact, breaking the deadlock with a clinical finish.

The vital goal snapped Valencia’s four-game winless streak, bringing much-needed momentum to Los Che ahead of their upcoming clash with Real Madrid.
