The Super Falcons of Nigeria sealed their passage to the next round of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games qualifiers after dismantling Comoros 5-0 in the second leg at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, securing a dominant 7-0 aggregate victory.
The nine-time African champions came into the encounter looking to build on their 2-0 first-leg advantage, which was earned courtesy of goals from Michelle Alozie and Uchenna Kanu.
While the Coelacanths aimed to overturn the deficit and cause a major upset, their hopes were quickly dashed by a relentless Nigerian side.
After a cagey opening period, Toni Payne finally broke the deadlock just four minutes before the half-time whistle. The ten-time WAFCON winners then stepped on the gas in the second half, with Uchenna Kanu making it 2-0 in the 58th minute.
Kanu thought she had added another shortly after, but her effort was ruled out. Undeterred, the Nigerian side pushed forward, and Toni Payne scored her second of the afternoon in the 64th minute—finishing brilliantly off a fine assist from debutant Blessing Okpe to complete a clinical brace for the Inter Milan midfielder.
Kanu got her own well-deserved brace just four minutes later, slotting home in the 68th minute to extend the advantage to 4-0.
The rout was completed when Okpe won a penalty on her international debut, allowing Christy Ucheibe to calmly convert from the spot and make it FIVE for the 11-time African giants.
The Austin Eguavoen-led side will now turn their attention to a blockbuster showdown against Morocco in the next round of the Olympic qualifiers.
However, the resounding victory was marred by a worrying concern for the team. Skipper Rasheedat Ajibade was forced off in tears after picking up an injury late in the match.
