Suspected Military Aircraft Fires at Palm Oil Mill in Rivers State, Injures Villagers

There was panic in Bunu and Koroma Communities in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State when a military aircraft suspected to belong to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) opened fire on workers at palm oil mill between the two communities.
Eyewitnesses told Kristina Reports that the airborne troops must have mistaken the palm oil mill for an illegal refining site and fired relentlessly in a circular motion into the scene.
They further informed that a number of persons, who were hit by stray bullets, sustained mild bullet wounds, and were taken to a traditional healer who was attending to them as at the time of this report.
Kristina Reports was yet to confirmed if there were any casualties as at the time of this report, however, a motorcyclist, who visited the scene moments after the incident disclosed that a woman who was on her farm nearby was directly hit by a stray bullet.
Upon hearing of the incident, a team of young men guarding some pipelines in the area, located and rushed her to an undisclosed hospital in the area.
Another eyewitness revealed to Kristina Reports that some soldiers were sighted going to the scene after allegedly being alerted by the avalanche of gunshots during the raid.
Enquiries sent by Kristina Reports to the 6 Division Nigerian Army, which is the lead agency in Joint Task Force Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), and the Nigerian Air Force, which is the air component of the OPDS were yet to be responded to as at the time of this report.
