Sustainability Is Critical To Health Delivery says Dr. Agala

The Executive Secretary of the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), Dr.Vetty Agala has emphasized the critical importance of a sustainable and resilient supply chain to the effective operation and delivery of quality healthcare services to residents of Rivers State.

Dr. Vetty Agala made the remarks during a meeting with representatives of Clinton Health Access Initiative, (CHAI), on Monday, 7th September, 2026, at RIVCHPP’s office in Port Harcourt.

Dr. Agala noted that a well-coordinated supply chain is essential to ensuring the continuous availability of the resources, services, medicines, medical supplies, equipment, and other critical inputs required to support healthcare delivery across its network of accredited facilities.Dr. Agala also stated that RIVCHPP remains open to strategic private-sector collaboration and support to enhance quality healthcare for its enrollees.

Speaking during the meeting, the project manager of Clinton Health Access Initiative,Peace Oruma said the engagement focused on identifying potential opportunities to strengthen access to drugs for RIVCHPP enrollees while also exploring the sustainability and effectiveness of the programme’s pharmaceutical supply management chain.

It is noteworthy to state that Clinton Health Access Initiative is a global health organisation that operates at the nexus of government, businesses, and health, which has been partnering RIVCHPP to ensure Rivers residents get affordable healthcare services without passing through financial hardship.
