Regional newspaper named Newspaper of the Year for sixth time_*By John, Entertainment
YENAGOA — Today’s News Now (TNN) has once again been named Newspaper of the Year at the Bayelsa Media Award (BMA), taking its tally of wins at the prestigious annual event to six.
The latest recognition came at the 13th edition of the Bayelsa Media Award, held on Thursday at Emmanuel’s Place in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

TNN’s Bayelsa Bureau representative, John Odhe, received the award on behalf of the newspaper’s Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Ofonime Umanah.
The sixth BMA Newspaper of the Year honour places the latest achievement in the context of TNN’s sustained presence in the regional media space, where the newspaper has built a reputation around investigative journalism, consistency in news reporting and rich editorial content.
Some journalists who congratulated the newspaper said the latest recognition came as no surprise, pointing to TNN’s track record and sustained investment in journalism.
They noted that the newspaper’s coverage has consistently focused attention on issues of public interest, communities and developments across the Niger Delta, while maintaining a strong regional identity.
Speaking after receiving the award, Odhe commended the organisers of the Bayelsa Media Award for sustaining a platform that recognises excellence in the media industry.
He also thanked members of the public who voted for TNN, saying the recognition would further encourage the newspaper to sustain its commitment to professional journalism and quality content.

The Bayelsa Media Award, now in its 13th edition, has continued to provide a platform for recognising journalists, media organisations and other stakeholders whose work contributes to the growth of the state’s media landscape.
For TNN, however, Thursday’s ceremony was more than another award night. It marked the newspaper’s sixth Newspaper of the Year win at the BMA—a distinction that underscores its enduring footprint in Bayelsa’s competitive media environment.
The latest honour adds to TNN’s growing collection of awards and further strengthens its profile as a regional newspaper committed to telling the stories of the Niger Delta and amplifying issues that matter to its communities..
