The 2025 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six will close its curtains in the most dramatic and historic way possible, as four teams have a good chance of winning the league.

All three games will be played simultaneously at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, as all three games have an impact on who emerges as the Champion.

In what is one of the closest title races in NWFL Premiership history, four teams: Nasarawa Amazons, Edo Queens, Bayelsa Queens, and Remo Stars Ladies, all go into the final day with a realistic chance of winning the league title.

Explaining the decision to have all matches played simultaneously, NWFL Chief Operating Officer Modupe Shabi said, “It’s important to protect the integrity of the competition. With four teams still in contention, simultaneous kick-off ensures fairness and keeps the excitement alive.”

She added, “This is a historic moment for the league, and we want the best team to emerge champion under the most transparent conditions.”

Nasarawa Amazons who are topping the table with eight points will face Edo Queens, who are just one point behind, in an all-important clash at the Main Bowl of the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne. A win for either side will seal the championship, while a draw could leave the door open for others, depending on goal difference and goals scored.

On Pitch 4, Bayelsa Queens will look to capitalize on the situation when they take on Naija Ratels, who have yet to register a point. A convincing win could be enough for Bayelsa to claim the title if the leaders drop points.

Meanwhile, Remo Stars Ladies, playing on Pitch 2 against Rivers Angels, also remain in the chase. With a solid win and favourable results elsewhere, the hosts could pull off a stunning late surge to clinch the crown.

According to the competition rules, the final standings will be determined by goal difference, goals scored, goals conceded, and head-to-head, in that order, in the event of a tie on points.
