Bonny High Court Goes Live After Sallah Holidays

The Bonny Judicial Division of the Rivers State Judiciary will be inaugurated on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, Kristina Reports has learned.

Chairman of the Bonny Lawyers Forum, Torudoghubo Jamaica disclosed this on Monday, June 9, 2025 over the telephone to Kristina Reports in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.   

He informed that the inauguration will herald the commencement of the Bonny High Court, which is scheduled to begin sitting in Block D of the Rivers State High Court premises in Port Harcourt.

“I wish to notify that the Bonny Judicial Division will be formally unveiled and inaugurated on Tuesday, 10th June 2025 by 9am at the Bonny High Court sitting in Port Harcourt Block D High Court Premises.”  

The State Chief Judge, Justice Simeon Amadi is expected to inaugurate the Bonny Judicial Division, which was approved to commence operation by him earlier this year.

The Bonny Lawyers Forum Chairman praised the State Chief Judge for acceding to the request of the forum to accord the people of Bonny a High Court to adjudicate issues relating to them.

He further stated that the new High Court will ensure that the dispensation of justice is expedited and issues are addressed in a timely manner.

He expressed the hope that the infrastructural provision would be made in the nearest future to fast-track the sitting of the court in Bonny.
