Se-Alabo Banigo’s Investiture, “A Moment of Honour…Renewed Hope – Administrator Says, Felicitates Newly Elevated Country Chiefs

The Administrator of Bonny Local Government Area, Kingsley Banigo has described the elevation of Se-Alabo Sotonye Banigo to a country chief by the Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Bonny Kingdom as “a moment of honour, continuity, and renewed hope for the Banigo House”.

Banigo gave this commendation in a statement on Saturday, June 28, 2025, when he joined an august gathering of dignitaries, royal custodians, and proud indigenes to witness the formal presentation of Wari-Alabo Sotonye Banigo to the Amanyanabo at the King Perekule Palace, Bonny, Rivers State.

The Administrator, who himself is a proud son of the Banigo lineage, expressed confidence in Se-Alabo Sotonye Banigo’s capacity to steer the House with wisdom and distinction and moving it to the next level.

Se-Alabo Banigo, alongside Se-Alabo Dr. Daddy Dappa Allison, and Se-Alabo Adienyesigha Halliday were recognized and inducted into the Bonny Chiefs Council by the Amanyanabo-in-Council on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Se-Alabo Sotonye Banigo is the Chief and Head of the Banigo Major Chieftaincy House, while Se-Alabo Dr Daddy Dappa Allison, Nwaoju XX, is the Chief and Head of the Nwaoju Allison Major Chieftaincy House, and Se-Alabo Adienyesigha Halliday is the Chief and Head of the Halliday Major Chieftaincy House, all of Bonny Kingdom.

The Administrator extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly inducted and respected Wari-Alapu who were admitted same day into the Bonny Chiefs Council and recognized by His Majesty as Se-Alapu (Country Chiefs of Bonny Kingdom).

“Their elevation is a testament to their unwavering commitment to the service of our Kingdom, and I have no doubt they will add immense value to the Council of Chiefs,” the Administrator remarked.

The occasion was marked by deep cultural expression, showcasing the pride and heritage of the Bonny Kingdom.

It served as a historic milestone for the Banigo House as Wari-Alabo Sotonye Banigo was officially admitted into the revered Bonny Chiefs Council by the Amanyanabo-in-Council. The presence of the Bonny Local Government Administrator at the royal investitures underscored the Council’s steadfast commitment to upholding traditional institutions and fostering unity, cultural continuity, and progressive leadership across the Kingdom.
