Bonny LG Chairman Lauds NLNG for Local Content Development at Nigerian Content Stakeholders Retreat

The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, Abinye Pepple has commended the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) for sustaining an impressive 95% Nigerian workforce.

Pepple gave this commendation on Friday, November 22, 2025 when he joined key industry leaders and stakeholders at the 2025 Nigerian Content Stakeholders Retreat and Appreciation Night organized by the company at Finima in Bonny LGA.

He describing the policy on local content as “a strong testament to the company’s unwavering support for Nigerian Content development”.

The Bonny LGA chief executive expressed his appreciation for NLNG’s longstanding commitment to the growth, development, and shared prosperity of the LGA.

“The commitment NLNG has demonstrated in Bonny cannot be overemphasized, particularly its contribution and dedication to the construction and completion of the Bonny–Bodo Road.”

Pepple also called for strengthened collaboration to facilitate the retraining and refresher certification of Fire Technicians who will operate the Bonny Fire Station – one of the flagship projects to be commissioned under his administration’s first 100 days in office.

He further assured stakeholders of the local government’s commitment to advancing human capacity development across the LGA through strategic partnerships and targeted interventions.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards by the Chairman to Nigerian Content Champions of the year.

In the Chairman’s entourage were his Vice, Ibinyefagha Alabere; Leader of Bonny Legislative Assembly, Kingsley Jumbo; his Deputy, Lawrence Idasoalabo; and other members; Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Soparagha Jumbo; amongst other officials.

Dignitaries at the event included NLNG’s Deputy Managing Director, Olakunle Osobu; Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Felix Ogbe, former Executive Secretaries of NCDMB, Dr. Ernest Nwapa, and Denzil Kentebe; Chairman, NLNG Board Local Content Committee, Rabiu Sulaiman; General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development, Dr. Sophia Horsfall; and Chief Communications Officer, NNPC Limited, Andy Odeh.
