Nigeria’s national grid has collapsed for the umpteenth time throwing the nation into darkness in the face of a dwindling economy and obvious cluelessness of the Federal Government.

Spokesperson of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), Emeka Ezeh confirmed the grid failure in a statement released on the evening of Monday, October 14, 2024.

According to Ezeh, the general system collapse occurred at 6:48pm on Monday, October 14, 2024.

The EEDC reported that this incident has resulted in widespread loss of power supply across its franchise areas.

“The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform our valued customers of a general system collapse that occurred at 6:48 PM today, 14th October 2024. This has led to the loss of supply currently being experienced across the EEDC network.

“As a result, all our interface Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) stations are out of supply, preventing us from providing services to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States.

“We are on standby, awaiting detailed information about the collapse and the restoration of supply from the National Control Centre (NCC) in Osogbo,” he stated.

This incessant power outage resulting from the national grid collapse has continued to further worsen the economic situation for citizens who need electricity to power their businesses.
