Chief Dan-Jumbo Celebrates Women’s Invaluable Contributions to Societal Development on IWD 2025

As the global community marks the 2025 International Women’s Day, the Chief and Head of the Dan-Jumbo Chieftaincy House of Grand Bonny Kingdom, Se-Alabo Clinton Ibiwari Gibson Dan-Jumbo, Jene IV, has extended heartfelt congratulations to women across the world, especially, those of his House and the Kingdom.

In a heart-warming message, Se-Alabo Dan-Jumbo seized the occasion to celebrate the invaluable contributions of women to societal development, noting that the agelong quest for women empowerment and equal opportunity in society is critical now more than any other time.

Chief Jene IV emphasized the invaluable contributions of women in various spheres of life, from home building to community development to nation-building, highlighting the pivotal role women play in fostering progress and unity within Grand Bonny Kingdom and beyond.

“We salute the resilience, achievements, and potential of women worldwide. From my darling wife to my daughter to the great women of Dan-Jumbo House, Jene Wari-Ere, I salute you all on a day like this,” said Se-Alabo Clinton Ibiwari Gibson Dan-Jumbo, Jene IV.

“Their dedication and leadership inspire us all to strive for a more inclusive and equitable future. Even now, issues like education, access to capital, skills gap bridging, access to opportunities, level playing field in politics, gender-based discrimination, and other issues need to be addressed to empower women to achieve more.”

International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8th, serves as a poignant reminder to honour and appreciate the accomplishments of women while advocating for gender parity and empowerment.

The Chief and Head of the Dan-Jumbo Chieftaincy House reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote women’s rights and amplify their voices, noting that already in-house moves are being made to provide sustainable livelihoods for women of the House, as well as empower them to support each other to grow.
