Farmers and leaders from Sogho community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State have made an urgent appeal to His Royal Majesty, King Solomon Ndigbara, seeking intervention over ongoing attacks on their farmlands by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

On April 15, 2025, the distressed group visited the palace of the king, who also holds the title of ‘Mene-Bua Bori’ bearing visibly damaged crops as evidence of the destruction.

They lamented that the attacks have intensified during this critical period of the farming season, threatening their livelihoods and food security.

Speaking on behalf of the community, local farmers recounted the repeated incursions by the herders, calling on the monarch to leverage his influence to bring peace and protection to their lands.

In response, King Solomon Ndigbara assured the community of his support, urging them to remain peaceful. He pledged to engage relevant authorities and stakeholders to resolve the crisis.

“I will work tirelessly to ensure that the Fulani herdsmen respect the rights of our people and the boundaries of our farmlands “
