With regards to the trending news about a foiled coup attempt, the Concerned Citizens of Bonny (CCB) has debunked allegations in circulation against the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Samuel Ogbuku.
The group in a statement on Friday, October 31, 2025, signed by its Chairman, Victor Ibaningo, absolved the NDDC boss of any involvement in the alleged planned coup against Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu.

In a statement released , the CCB said the allegations connecting the NDDC Chairman to any “coup funding” activity or any activity of such, is false and should not be housed in the minds of the public.
“These fabrications are nothing more than desperate attempts by political detractors and mischief makers who fear the rising influence, integrity, and progressive leadership that Ogbuku represents, not just for the NDDC, but for the entire Niger Delta region.
“We urge the general public, the media, and all right-thinking Nigerians to disregard these deceitful rumors. There is absolutely no truth, evidence, or credibility to support such allegations.”

“Samuel Ogbuku remains a law-abiding citizen, a respected leader, whose vision continues to inspire unity, peace, and progress within the Niger Delta and beyond.”
He also stated that these allegations are aimed at dragging the name and reputation of the chairman to the mud; tainting his image which has been built on the foundation of integrity and dedication to service.
Victor Ibaningo used the opportunity to restate the group’s support to the NDDC Managing Director and the Commission at large, saying the group remains in the path of light.
He further asserted that the Concerned Citizens of Bonny does not and will never support any form of character defamation and false allegations, urging the general public to do the same, adding, “the truth will always outshine falsehood”.
